THE IMPORTANCE OF “FALL” BOAT ORDERS
As we have all experienced, this has been a boating summer unlike any before. Most all boating activities were initially impacted or delayed by stay-at-home requirements in Michigan and around the country. Special events, cruises, amusement park vacations, concerts, festivals, ballgames, weddings, camps, school, kids’ activities and so many other enjoyable summer times were canceled or unavailable to us all.
But then, there was Boating. Launch time! In our area – a gorgeous, hot dry summer, with plenty of calm conditions and outstanding boating days. What a great solution to the recreational void! Choose your crew, keep them close and have fun on the water. Experienced boaters boated more and newly aspiring boaters picked out a boat and got right at it.
And now, all around the country, dealer showrooms have been nearly emptied, including our own. Chaparral and Robalo are working hard to replenish dealers’ inventories and fill customer-sold orders. That is going to take months, likely well into winter to catch up.
Boating remains, as we have all been reminded, an incredibly wonderful choice for relaxation, shared experiences, family and friend togetherness, exploration and the healthy effects of outdoor recreation. That will continue into 2021 and beyond.
